Paul Ryan - Rock Star :)

I have to say after watching Paul Ryan's VP nomination acceptance speech last night, I believe republicans now have their own personal rock star! Ryan received a standing ovation and constant cheers as he stepped up to the podium. I know many have been waiting for this speech since the VP announcement a couple of weeks ago, and Ryan definitely did not disappoint!

Ryan was strong, on point, and stuck it to Obama with non dismissible facts (not that the media doesn't automatically try to discredit him). Ryan talked about the economy, debt, and the downward spiral America is in now. One fact that the MSM is trying to discredit Ryan on is the GM plant in Janesville, WI that has closed under Obama's watch. I would like to take a moment here and link a video that proves that Ryan was spot on about the closing of the plant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56h1gobtkIo&feature=player_embedded

Ryan also spoke about religion, and the man Mitt Romney is. Ryan stated that they have different church backgrounds, but still have the same core beliefs. Ryan and Romney both are amazing examples of their faith and their convictions.

Paul Ryan can relate to voters, of all incomes and means. Ryan's family background has not always been easy, his dad died when he was young, and his mom worked constantly to provide for her kids. What a great example she was to them! You could see during Ryan's speech how grateful he is for his mom, and how much he looks up to her to this day.

In closing, one statement that Ryan made that really stuck out to me was about our founding principles, he said we are not going to change the principles we were founded on, we are going to get our country BACK to the principles we were founded on.

I have to say that Romney and Ryan provide true hope and change, not that false facade Obama promised four years ago. These two men will do what is needed for this country, not just what is popular that day.

God bless! Romney/Ryan 2012!!

Chick-Fil-A Appreciation - Liberal backfire

I was honored to stand alongside great conservatives and patriots today, like Rick and Karen Santorum, and Mike Huckabee, for Chick-Fil-A appreciation day!!

I am not sure how many of you kept an eye today on the news, and the turnout for Chick-Fil-A appreciation day, but the sheer number of people is amazing. If you are on Facebook at all, there are TONS of pictures of the hundreds of thousands of people that turned up in support today!

Now I know the left is trying to twist the words of the CFA President and say that he is anti gay etc. What the president said though was that he supports traditional marriage, and the family. Last time I checked, we were still a nation of free speech, at least for now. The left has called for a boycott of CFA and is trying to push them out of cities and off of college campuses.

I think this so called boycott, has been a blessing in disguise :) Chick-Fil-A's sales have skyrocketed today. This gave conservatives the chance, not to just stand up for traditional marriage, but to stand up for freedom of speech and freedom of religion!! Even in the cities, such as Chicago, that were calling for a boycott, the turnout was high and the CFA's were busier than ever!!!

I praise God that I live in a country, where we can peacefully protest, or show our support for a person or business who stand up for our rights as conservatives and Christians!!

revolt?!? and lost patience.....

Within my circle of friends, their friends, and groups I am in, I have seen a lot of talk about "revolt" come the convention. Now revolt seems to take many different forms. There are the Paul supporters who want to hi-jack the convention, there are conservatives who have gone the "your way or the highway" route, and people who are just upset their candidate is not the nominee. I recently saw a post demanding we all revolt come convention, and get some other candidate!!

The common thread that all of these versions of revolt have is this, to get rid of Mitt Romney. Now Mitt was not my first pick, in all honesty he was 3rd on my list out of all the candidates. Needless to say he was certainly not at the bottom of my list either. I know Mitt is not perfect, but NONE of the candidates were, and none ever are. Some people seem to have an issue with Mitt's religion (I wrote a blog about that before), some have a problem with the fact he has worked hard and made a good living for him and his family, other's seem to have a problem with the fact as he's gotten older, his beliefs have changed and formed. Whatever the reasons, the time for all of this is past.

Think about this people, especially if you are on the fence concerning our nominee. BO is ruining our country. I have heard the excuse "it's just 4 more years, how much harm can he do?". Seriously? how much harm? he has already done immeasurable harm to our country. The man has kept none of his promises, has sky rocketed our debt, has no regard for our military, no regard for our Constitution. He has already bypassed our Constitution several times, what's to stop him from completely tossing it out if he stays in office? he has shown he cares nothing for America, our principles, our founding fathers. He cares nothing for our future, our laws. If this man is allowed to stay in office for 4 more years, we will NOT have an America come the end of it, and most likely this will be the last election in our country.

Is sticking to your principles, or demanding your "perfect" candidate, really worth it? Is it worth it for our children? I certainly do not think it's worth it. So many complain that the other side won't work with us, or the party won't work with us, has it ever occurred to anyone that for the good of the country sacrifices have to be made? I for one am willing to stand with our founding father's, and sacrifice what's necessary for this country, so we keep the America that we love, and have a country we are proud to call home! I have honestly lost ALL patience with people who are refusing to budge, who refuse to see the big picture, who will vote for someone not on the ballot but then say they did not help Obama. A vote for anyone, other than our nominee, is a vote for BO. Not to mention that this fighting, and bickering, and trying to hi-jack a convention in order to force another nominee? is only hurting us in the long run.....

Romney, Abortion, and God

I have heard a lot of people talking about how they will not vote for Romney because he will leave abortion up the states. One of the excuses added in is that God will not allow them to vote for someone who will leave abortion to the states.

I have a challenge though, for anyone who is taking this stance. Roe v Wade will NOT be overturned overnight. Even someone like Santorum would not have been able to do that. My challenge then, is to think about the lives that would be saved if even 10 states abolished abortion. I am not sure the exact numbers, but let us say that an average of 300,000 abortions are performed in each of these 10 states. That mean's that 3,000,000 lives would be saved!!! Are those 3,000,000 lives not worth it? Do you think Christ would take the stance that it's all of the babies or none? NO! Please stop using God as an excuse for not saving millions of lives every year!

To me, as it should be to all people but especially Christians, EVERY unborn life is important. We may have to take baby steps towards making abortion illegal, but every step that saves lives is a milestone! I hope that many people can think about this, and vote for Mitt Romney in November. People need to remember, it is NOT their way or the highway, we have to work towards our goals, they wont be handed to us on a silver platter. We can't afford Obama, and we KNOW he will NOT fight for the lives of millions of unborn children.

Romney, evolution, and the Presidency

I have been seeing some posts, blogs, and articles about Romney believing in theistic evolution. For those of you that don't know what that is, let me explain. Theistic evolution is the belief that there is evolution but it is God created and God guided.

Now, I have several problems with people going after Romney for this. One is that he at least believes it is from God. Two, I do not see how this effects the job he will do as a president. I know I have said it before but we are NOT electing a pastor. Right now schools teach full blown evolution and take God and Christ out of EVERYTHING, at least Mitt would want God and Christ put back in.

I do not agree with theistic evolution, I believe God spoke and we WERE, no questions asked. I do believe though that some animals have changed, evolved to fit their environments. I have a question for all of you though. Have you ever thought about the "big bang" theory? People believe that the universe just popped into existence right? Well the Bible says that God spoke, and things were created.

Genesis Chapter 1: 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

I suggest you read the whole chapter of Genesis 1, but those first few verses show the point I was trying to make.  I am not saying this backs up theistic evolution, just saying the thought occurred to me that technically there was a kind of big bang, but not the way scientists believe. It was God creating the universe, and giving us life.

Many people may not agree with me, and that's OK. My point to this though is that it shouldn't matter what Mitt Romney's theological beliefs are. He has a right to them, just like we do. He believes in God and Jesus Christ, which to me is enough. I mean look at the man we have in the white house. He claims to be a "Christian" but he honors the Muslim religion, and the people of that religion, and has total disregard for our religious freedom.

To me Romney is a good man, a Christian (however you want to spin that, you can but it's true), a strong family man, with a good foundation, he has great business experience. You may not believe it but Mitt WILL protect the unborn, marriage, and religious freedom. As a matter of fact he has fought hard for those, but was up against a strong democratic majority and was shot down.

People this election is important, probably one of the most important in our lifetime. We HAVE to get Obama out of office. Stop trying to look at this election like we are electing someone that is a Pastor, or is perfect, that's impossible and that is too much to expect of someone.

Call to Action!!

I am feeling inspired after spending the weekend at the GA GOP Convention. My husband and I had the honor of listening to Newt Gingrich speak at the dinner, breakfast, and convention. Speaker Gingrich made some great points. Newt, like me and others, is now supporting Romney. Newt has put aside differences to not only support Romney but to campaign for him! he has also said he will campaign hard for him until November to help ensure a crushing victory! As conservatives we need to join the team, and the fight. We can not sit by and let Obama stay in the white house for four more years, if we do we will not have an United States of America anymore.

I am going to make a few points and borrow some points from Newt, in the hopes that people who are on the fence, or flat out refusing to support the nominee will take it to heart. You may ask about Romney being conservative? well compare him to Obama, compared to Obama he is incredibly conservative. What about his Mormon religion? well he is grounded in his faith and beliefs, he stands by them, and he believes in God and Jesus Christ. He may have theological differences from what other Christian faiths believe....but remember we aren't electing a pastor. Romney has strong business and financial experience too and that is what we need.

Now at the convention Newt had a Romney sticker on his lapel. At his big speech to the whole crowd he pointed it out, and made some of the points I have made here. This was also a time he stated we had to work together and work hard. The Paul supports tried to boo Newt (talk about disrespect) but we stood, cheered, and applauded to drown them out. This kind of division is not helping us. People need to stop clinging to dead campaigns, and suspended candidates, and work together to stop Obama.

I admit I wasn't the most thrilled with Romney as our nominee at first. Honestly though he has grown on me, and I rather like him. He is a great man, father, and will make an amazing and smart president. We need him. Please, put aside your differences, or your reasons not to vote, and join the cause! Work with us nationally and locally, to not only get Romney elected, but to get conservative congressmen, senators, and local officials elected.

We can do this!! But we HAVE to work as a team! God Bless!

Media Stupidity

Really media? the best you can come up with to attack Romney on are his high school pranks? I guess no one in the media ever made stupid mistakes in high school? This story seems to keep growing too...it was a harmless prank, now suddenly the guy must have been gay....really? The current headline on CNN is "darkside of Romney's HS years".

Romney has said he doesn't remember this, and if it happened he is really sorry. No one has talked to the supposed victim. He has also said he would never have done anything because someone was thought to be gay, and things like that never occured to him in the early 60's.

Of course no one mentions the mistakes Obama made, or his admitted drug use (that he doesn't regret). I am sure Obama did other stupid things in HS, College, etc, but the media would never report on that.

We need a news station dedicated to not only the truth, but to not spreading stupid stories. CNN is liberal, but slightly more fair, and FOX is supposed to be conservative but they are biased to their own personal preferences. The news places that are supposed to be dedicated to truth, report on stupid stories like this one.

Let's stick to the important issues media! and make the American people aware of the truth, and not your jaded lies.....

Santorum's endorsement

I was so excited to read Rick's endorsement of Mitt Romney last night. Rick put a lot of though into this decision and definitely did not go into it blindly. Rick and Mitt met on Friday to discuss some important issues, and Rick said he felt confident that Mitt was on the right side (abortion, Obamacare, etc). I am so proud of Rick and how he handled this!

I have heard people saying they will still not support Romney as the nominee. These are people that say they trust Santorum 100%. Well you either trust Rick or you don't. If you trust him, you trust him in this decision as well. Rick would not lead people down a blind path or a bad road, and I would trust him with my life. That being said, we NEED to help Rick and support Mitt in order to get Obama out of the White House.

People need to remember, we are NOT electing a pastor or head of church, we are electing a president. Using someone's denomination (Baptist, Catholic, Mormon, etc) as an excuse not to vote is foolhardy. If someone believes in God and Jesus Christ, that we are saved by Faith and God's merciful grace, then that is good enough for me. Differences in theology are not going to send us to hell, and we will not have to account for voting for someone of another denomination. This excuse to me is a cop out. We have so much to worry about with this election! Our country is sliding further and further into debt by the second, we have international threats, our families and lives are under attack. There is a big picture here that involves so much more than someone's chosen denomination!

Please everyone, think about this, and make the choice that is best for the country. To vote third party, write in, or not at all is a selfish vote, an a vote for Obama.

Religious Attacks

I have noticed that not only is the government and Obama attacking our religious freedom, but there is a lot of attacking going on within religious circles, especially Christian ones.

I have heard so many times that people can not vote for someone because they are Catholic, Mormon, etc. First off, I don't agree with this, we are electing a President NOT a Pastor. Second, who are we to say someone is less of a Christian than we are because our beliefs are somewhat different. If we both believe in God and Jesus Christ, then we are both Christians. It shouldn't matter of someone believes Jesus lives on another planet. That's not something that is going to send someone to hell, and think about it, if Jesus wanted to go spend a day on another planet, He could!

With our religious freedoms being so attacked by the Obama administration, we as Christian's need to work TOGETHER no matter what the differences in our denominations, so that we can fight these attacks. Do you think that this healthcare bill will stop with the Catholic church? No! Next thing we know it will be required of all churches, or there will be something else the current admin is demanding churches do that would go against our beliefs.

Please everyone, come together, work together, keep the bigger picture in mind and don't allow our religious freedoms to be trampled on! and don't allow Obama to stay in office!

dinner speech nonsense

So I just read the entire transcript of Obama's speech the other night (if you haven't seen or read it here is the link http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/04/29/transcript-obama-remarks-at-white-house-correspondents-dinner/)

I can not tell you how disgusted I am. Just when I think he can't surprise me anymore...he pulls a stunt like this. The entire speech is filled with his poor attempt at humor and making fun of others, putting them down, and just plain filth. Example, he mentions Sarah Palin and the difference between a pit-bull and a hockey mom? his response though is that pit bulls taste good, with soy sauce...really?

People this is the man we have in office. He give no regard for the American people or this country. He has no class, no honor. All he cares about are himself and his rich buddies, screw the rest of the country. Tasteless crap like this is NOT appropriate for the President, but then when have Obama or his wife done the respectable or appropriate thing. They have taken 17 total vacations, several of which cost millions of dollars, oh but they make up for it by reimbursing the American people for ONE of those 17. I hear things like "well Bush took vacations to his ranch" yes he did, the ranch he OWNED before becoming President. He also often included work in his vacations. Unlike Obama who was in Hawaii when we were threatened by attacks a couple of Christmases ago, and he stayed there, why should he care right?

What gets me is you can show the facts to people, and they STILL will support him. My husband was telling an Obama supporter about the Alice in Wonderland party Obama threw for his kids that cost millions. Now Obama admitted to this, he said he tried to keep it a secret because he felt with the economy people would have taken offense (no, really? what made you think that Mr. President). The guy my husband told this to said "no that party is a lie". Seriously? there are pictures, Obama released a statement himself about it, but no...it never happened.

People are so blind, all I can do is pray for God's grace for this country, for the people in it, that eyes will be open.

Romney or Obama 2012

Well, I personally decided that I am going to support Romney for 2012, he will be the nominee by Texas, and we need to unite to get Obama OUT of the White House.

I know some people find this decision off, after supporting Rick Santorum, but it's a decision I made awhile back. One was to support the nominee, and two was that Romney was my choice after Rick (I can't stomach Newt or Paul). No Romney may not be who we originally chose, but he is who the people as a whole chose, and I now choose to support him.

I think Romney can win by a landslide, the problem though is that so many people want to find reasons not to vote. They like someone else, they want to write in, they wont vote so they can make a point, they don't like Romney's religion, they don't like that he hired someone gay (a moot point from Santorum supporters IMO because Rick did too). These rifts, are what could kill our chances.

Whether you supported Romney, Santorum, or someone else, I urge you to come together and see the bigger picture. Rick said it all the time, the goal is to defeat Barack Obama, and that's a goal we all share! If you can't work for the nominee, then work against Obama!

We need a conservative VP, so we should be encouraging that, as well as voting for and supporting other conservative candidates (Senate, Congress, local elections, Judges, etc). This will help ensure that we can hold the liberals feet to the fire, and get America back on track.

Emotions running high

So I have been wanting to start a blog for quite awhile, I did attempt it awhile back, but I have learned a few things and decided to start over.  As a conservative wife and mother, I want to be able to get out important information, facts, and my feelings on different things, especially the current political race.

I think what is heaviest on my heart at the moment, are the attitudes of people that I counted among my friends in the national Santorum campaign. It was heartbreaking when Rick dropped, I cried for two days. I know there are a lot of people new to politics and campaigns, and that many people handled this news differently. I just wish the hate and nastiness would stop, no matter what people think of other's decisions. It's not productive, God doesn't like it, it probably brings tears to His eyes, and I know Rick would not approve.

Me personally, I had made my decision long before Rick dropped, because I knew how politics worked, and knew it was a possibility. I grew up with a very political dad. In my teens we used to have a lot of discussions, and I learned a lot from him which I am very thankful for! My personal decision in this was to support Romney, he will be the nominee and we HAVE to defeat Obama. Many people I respect and admire and made this decision as well.

I don't judge or condemn other people's decisions, on how they handle this. I do disagree with running a full fledged campaign without a candidate (this just seems disrespectful, not to mention somewhat illegal). I think it's great people still want to vote for Rick, and show their support! I just hope when this is all said and done we can come together and work for the bigger picture and greater good of this country and our children.

One thing that does bother me though are Christians who are saying God has a plan and we need to trust Him (which I full agree with!!) but then turn around and insist that their personal plan is so good it is therefore God's plan as well. God's plans are rarely our plans, we have to learn to be still and know that though His plan's are different they are great! and He has our best interests at heart. I am fully content in my decision, and know that whatever happens God is behind me and He has a great plan for me (and for Rick, who I still want to support in whatever he does now).

I hope that this ministers to some people.  I just wanted to get my thoughts down on paper and start this blog.

God bless everyone!
